Harfield has launched an extension to its eco-friendly, safe-to-use plastic tableware range that will be good news for caffeine drinkers and help fight the battle against single-use waste.
Harfield provides durable, 100% recyclable plastic tableware for healthcare, hospitality, educational and retail industries.
Replacing disposables, melamine and crockery with polycarbonate reduces waste sent to landfill and saves costs of waste disposal and environmental cost of landfill. For example, if washed correctly, a Harfield tumbler can last an average of five or more years.
The new Harfield reusable plastic cup is designed to encourage coffee drinkers to stop using disposables, help protect the environment and save tonnes of paper and plastic.
The 350ml cup is 100% recyclable and antibacterial, providing durable 24-hour product protection against the growth of harmful micro-organisms.
Reusable coffee cups have grown in popularity as concerns grow about the waste created by 2.5 billion disposable coffee cups each year.
In studies it has been shown that reusable cups can harbour potentially harmful bacteria if they aren’t washed properly immediately after use. Up to 90% of hot drinks cups and mugs in the workplace were found to carry dangerous bacteria.
The new cup, an addition to the Harfield Antibacterial range, contains Biomaster technology, reducing the risk of bacterial surface contamination effective for the lifetime of the drinking vessel.
The 16cm tall reusable cup is dishwasher safe and comes complete with comfort pack (including spout protector and foot) and an optional sleeve.
Harfield Marketing, Strategy & Brand Manager Carol Moodie says: “We are very excited to launch our reusable and affordable coffee cup. We love that it’s antibacterial and very eco-friendly – not only is it reusable but it’s 100% recyclable.
The amazing colours and the fact they can be mixed and matched means everyone gets a colour they love!”
