Expert Talk at Performance Days

Polygiene’s PhD and CMO, Mats Georgson, joined a panel this past November discussing the sustainability issues surrounding water in the textile industry and how odor control technology may play a key part in conservation.

Overview from the discussion: Water is needed throughout textile producing processes for fibers, for coloring, but also and especially at a post-production/industry stage. It is said that 80% of a garment’s footprint is decided at the design stage. But if the sustainability mantra is longevity, the most amount of water will be used whilst it is owned. There are several approaches to reducing the need to wash garments so frequently. So pre-consumer and post-production water consumption is what the panel will discuss.
